University of Latvia invites bachelor and master level students to join course Sociology of violence and radicalization on FORTHEM Digital Academy!
The study course aims to improve knowledge about violence and radicalization from the sociological perspective, to identify the roots of violence and radicalization, as well to analyse the results of the violent acts and the violence and radicalization prevention opportunities.
The tasks of the study course are to acquaint students with theories explaining violence and radicalization, as well as violence and radicalization types, to analyse the roots of violence based on certain cases, understand the mechanisms of radicalization, and to stimulate students to participate in sociological research or development of prevention strategies.

This 3 ECTS synchronous course will be delivered entirely online (materials available in the FORTHEM Digital academy and lectures in MS Teams).
